Usually I do moderate my radio shows for a reason, that is because it makes them more personal. This time however, I have decided to skip the talking. It was a spontaneous decision after having heard the songs of the show. Sometimes it´s just better to let the music speak for itself and this time that was the case. So you don´t get a “regular” show this month but a one hour listening mix simply called “A Quiet Sunday Afternoon In June” instead. Hope you like it!

Hola, how are things? For all the jazzcats among you I´ve just finished a feature on Tin Men & The Telephone, a great trio from Amsterdam! Tony, Lucas and Bobby seriously kick some technology and ass! Those who have already seen them play live know what I´m talking about. We spoke about cows, the use of annoyances like iphones for musical purposes and the way Andrew Hill influences present day pianists. Check out one full hour of Tin Men!

Jetztmusikfestival is over, doing the Festivalradio was fun! Had some interesting chats which you can relisten to if you like, for example with Florian Kupfer, with Darkstar from the UK and with Nils Frahm.
Now looking forward to a lot of upcoming releases like the new Kelis-Album on Ninja Tune and more. New show coming up soon! Also some gigs coming up, playing after Peaches and Erobique at Theater der Welt on May 28, this should be fun as well. Hear you soon!
I´m really looking forward to the Jetztmusikfestival coming up in Mannheim at the end of march! On the one side because there will be a lot of great concerts, performances and readings by artists like Nils Frahm, Darkstar or Andrew Pekler. On the other side because I will do the Festival Radio which will bring you all the info you need about the Jetztmusikfestival, artist features, interviews and so on. Live every day from 4 to 5 pm on Bermudafunk on UKW 89,6 MHz in Mannheim and UKW 105,4 MHz in Heidelberg or here.
2014 started off with a bunch of great releases already, so luckily no need for moments of musical frustration! Go tell the US-administration, haha!

As promised, here´s a special show looking back on the past year to start off the new one! As most of you have probably gone through at least a few of these “Best of 2013”-lists already, I have decided to follow a different concept: I have asked music maniacs from different countries and backgrounds to name me a piece of music that they personally connect to 2013 for whatever reason. I am happy to have received some replies with great music! I didn´t know some of the tunes myself yet, which made it even more exciting for me! Some tunes are from 2013, some are older. For sure they add up to a very special selection in my opinion!
